A friendly reminder to all of our Terrier Families that beginning Monday, December 2nd, all personal electronics (cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, etc.) must be silenced, away, and out of sight during the instructional hours of 8:27 am until 3:10 pm.
In addition to the school's procedure, teachers may enforce additional rules in their classrooms. According to HB 379, " a student may not use a wireless communications device during instructional time, except when expressly directed by a teacher solely for educational purposes. A teacher shall designate an area for wireless communications devices during instructional time."
Any student who has a device visible or fails to meet the expectations of a teacher's classroom will need to turn in their device to a faculty or staff member and will be able to pick up their device from the front office at the end of the school day.
Beginning January 7th, parents or guardians will have to pick up devices for students who violate our personal electronics and devices rules and procedures.

Dear Terrier Families,
Due to the hectic time of year, many parents and community members have expressed that they are not able to make this evening's Pizza with the Principal. As a result, I will postpone Pizza with the Principal until after the holidays.
If you would like to meet with me sooner, I am happy to arrange personal meetings with any community member. If you are interested in a personal meeting, please call the school at 863-946-0811.
Thank you,
Dr. Roy

A Mission Statement is an incredibly important statement that declares what an organization intends to do to achieve its Vision Statement.
We unanimously voted to adopt the following Vision Statement last night:
"Our vision is to motivate and empower students to achieve individual, academic, and social excellence through innovative learning experiences in an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment that celebrates diversity, promotes integrity, and values everyone as essential partners in building a foundation for continuous improvement and growth."

The Boys Basketball Team did a fundraiser to pie a faculty member in the face. The top 3 "fund raisers" ended up getting pied: Ms. Busby (most funds raised), Coach Lee (2nd place), and Ms. Gray (3rd Place). We hope the pie tasted great!

Please join Dr. Roy and Ms. Erskin in celebrating Zaria Hendrix who received a POSITIVE OFFICE REFERRAL for demonstrating responsibility. Ms. Erskin wrote, "Zaria took it upon herself today to ask for help when she realized she needed it in math. After a few moments, she reported that it wasn't that difficult now that she got the hang of it. I am proud of her for taking responsibility for her learning today!"
Well done, Zaria!

He gives 110% for everything he does and is a wonderful, respectful, and kind young man. He is also the first person to volunteer help if a classmate is having trouble with school work as well. Overall, he is a joy to have in class and an upstanding student."

Dear Parents & Community Members,
We are starting the process of developing a clear VISION for what Moore Haven Middle-High School will strive to become as we reach for excellence in all we do. To begin this process, Faculty & Staff Members met yesterday afternoon to reflect on our current Vision Statement and develop revised Vision Statements that they believe more accurately paint a picture of who we strive to become. We would love to know which Vision Statement most resonates with your vision for our school. Please consider clicking on the link below and voting for our next Vision Statement.
A school's Vision Statement is an incredibly powerful statement of self purpose that states what a school wishes to become in a "perfect world." It expresses our goal of what we believe is the pursuit of excellence.
