Born and raised in the state of Florida, Susan Pressley Prowant is a life-long resident of one of the best places to live on earth, Moore Haven, Florida. After graduation from Moore Haven High School in 1994, she moved to Gainesville, Florida, to attend one of the finest universities in the United States, The University of Florida. Susan r...eceived her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Processes and Disorders, with a Minor in Education in May of 1998.  After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree, she wasn’t ready to give up her student season tickets to watch the Florida Gators play football, so she applied and was accepted into the Graduate Program at UF.  Susan received her Master of Arts Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders for Speech-Language Pathology in May of 2000.  While at the University of Florida, Susan met her husband-to-be, Brian, and they were married on June 24, 2000. Susan always knew she wanted to return to Moore Haven after college and in August of 2000 she accepted a Speech-Language Pathologist position with the Glades County School District. Working with children had always been a dream of hers and the school system seemed to be the perfect fit.  Thus, she followed in the footsteps of a long line of teachers in her family and has been in the teaching profession for 17 years. The administration, faculty, staff, and students in the Glades County School District are top notch, and Susan considers it a privilege to be able to work in a profession that she loves!
Susan and Brian have been married for 16 years and have been blessed with two wonderful children.  Brice is 13 years old and is an 8th grader at Moore Haven Middle-High School.  Camryn is 7 years old and is in the 2nd grade at Moore Haven Elementary School. Susan enjoys participating in her children’s school activities, sports, 4-H, FFA, church activities, and their yearly family trips to North Carolina and River Ranch. She also enjoys traveling, especially to one of her favorite destinations, Key West, and hanging out with friends and family at their weekly getaway, The Camp. Brian and Brice are avid bass fishermen so Susan spends quite a bit of time at fishing tournament weigh-ins taking lots of pictures. She also admits that she’s pretty good at shopping and would never miss an opportunity to employ her shopping skills.  She’s a member of First United Methodist Church of Moore Haven, a member of Glades Youth Livestock, and a 4-H volunteer.  She also has fun at the Methodist Mini’s weekly after school club at church. Susan truly believes that it is a rewarding experience to work and volunteer in the community in which she lives. She would like to encourage you to get involved in the school and community activities where you live and work.
